Remember your favorite book in 5th grade?
You should go read it.
My favorite book was A Wrinkle in Time when I was about 12. I just read it again and it was a great deal of fun. It wasn't the same, but it was still lovely.
I didn't remember all the Biblical illusions and quotes, but there's just a profound and simple truth about it. Love isn't "all you need" but it is the most powerful and the greatest gift we have to give.
The things you re-learn from a 5th grade reading level.

that book is freakin' awesome! I re-read it senior year while on AMOR. Still very cool. And yeah, biblical allusions.
Madeline L'Engle does it so beautifully and creepily. I'm seriously scared of the Ecthori Mr. Jenkensins

I think my favorite book was a series. "The dark is Rising". Kinda creepy. I should re-read.
Another thing I found in high school was the "Redwall" series. All little animals, but really really cool.
