my jaunt to Chicagoland has come to an end. It was dandy to see everybody, but there's never enough time to chill with people you love. *sigh* Still...it was good to just see them at least.
Anyway, this new year looks pretty promising and surprisingly full of stability. There seems to be a whole lot of beginnings and not nearly as many endings as last year...this is good. I like beginnings way more than endings as a general rule.

Two days ago I tried snowboarding.
Ow.
Again I have to question the sanity of strapping yourself onto a board and attempting to throw yourself down a hill while vainly attempting to balance on it. My head found the ground often and with great force..I'm still sore and it's been 2 days. But I tried it...and I'll probably try again....just not any time soon.

My apartment is still not put together...I hope to do that this week, but I've had several people stay here despite its current lack of aesthetic charm (kudos to you Kara and Karissa). I'm going to go to a Groeneweg family dinner now...yea for food that's so much better than I can make!
